Rick Grapski, M.D.
Rick Grapski, M.D. has been director of the Thompson stem cell transplant program since 1997. Dr. Grapski is a specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and other blood-related diseases. Dr Grapski is board-certified in hematology and oncology, with specialized training in transplantation. Dr. Grapski is the principal physician for all Thompson stem cell transplant patients. He sees patients before, during and after all parts of the high-dose chemotherapy/stem cell transplant process, plans patient care and orders treatment.

As part of Thompson Cancer Survival Center, the stem cell program has access to an exceptional group of physicians.
William Komonos, M.D., director of the stem cell laboratory, is always part of the treatment process.
Depending on a patient's need, consultation and treatment may be provided by medical oncologists with stem cell transplant training, radiologists, infectious disease specialists, surgeons, pulmonologists, nephrologists, gastroenterologists, critical care specialists, intensivists or others.

Shila Newman, RN, OCN and Jennifer Raymond, RN, BSN, OCN are oncology-certified registered nurses who coordinate all aspects of each patient's high-dose chemotherapy/stem cell transplant program.
