Thompson Cancer Survival Center Sevier

Thompson Cancer Survival Center (TCSC) – Sevier, located on the LeConte Medical Center campus, is a 16,000 square-foot center that brings world-class cancer care to the residents of Sevier and surrounding counties. Some of the services provided at TCSC-Sevier include:

• Radiation Therapy - Radiation Therapy is sometimes used in treating patients with certain types of cancers, when it is localized to one area of the body. Radiation Therapy is used to try to control or kill malignant cells. Services are available at the TCSC-Sevier campus through Thompson Radiation Services, a department of LeConte Medical Center.

• PET/CT Scanning - Thompson PET Services are available to TCSC-Sevier patients at two facilities in Knoxville - TCSC-Downtown and TCSC-West. Thompson was the first facility in the region to offer Positron-Emission Tomography (PET). With its higher resolution, the PET/CT can find tumors and the spread of cancer at the molecular level, long before they would become visible with other systems. It can also determine cancer stages for more effective treatment planning.

• Chemotherapy / Infusion Services - Chemotherapy is available at the TCSC-Sevier campus through LeConte Medical Center Infusion Services.

As a truly “comprehensive cancer care center,” Thompson doesn’t simply provide industry-leading treatment and therapy. Patients of Thompson also have access to genetic counselors, dieticians, social workers as well as a host of clinical trials and multidisciplinary clinics. It is this dedication to the entire scope of patient care that sets Thompson Cancer Survival Center apart from the rest.
