We are more than a cancer center. We are a cancer survival center, committed to our community and determined to deliver the most advanced cancer care available with integrity, compassion and the patient at the center of everything we do.
At Thompson, leading cancer specialists use the most advanced technologies to achieve breakthrough successes in treating many types of cancer. These doctors have the support of a complete team. Dieticians, genetics counselors, physicists, pharmacists, therapists, technologists, oncology nurses, social workers and others are all there to treat - and beat - the disease. Therapies pioneered at Thompson have transformed - and saved - the lives of hundreds of East Tennessee cancer patients. And clinical trials have brought the most advanced new cancer medicines to this area. In addition to the original downtown location, there are now Thompson facilities in West Knoxville and at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. And soon a Sevierville facility will be constructed. Each year Thompson's outreach staff provides free or low-cost services to thousands people who are medically needy or underserved. As the frontier of cancer care advances, Thompson Cancer Survival Center acquires and develops new treatments and technologies to battle the disease. We're going to keep advancing until we eliminate cancer once and for all.
