Support
Thompson has a licensed social worker to help cancer patients and their families cope with cancer and its stressful effects on:

• Family Relationships
• Emotional needs
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Grief

The social worker can also help with referrals to community programs and financial needs (must meet eligibility guidelines):

• Assistance with applications for Social Security Disability, SSI and Medicaid
• Referrals to community agencies
• Qualified patients may be provided with assistance with expenses of cancer treatment through Friends of the Cancer Center and other resources
• Resources for transportation
• Resources for prescription drugs

Nutrition Management
Our licensed dietician provides information on herbal supplements (do's and don'ts during treatment), nutritional management of treatment-related side effects, eating tips to enhance overall wellness, post-treatment nutrition and more.
