Cassandra Pitts 2022 Rob Sanders Award Recipient

Cassandra Pitts, a department assistant and patient scheduler at our Thompson Oncology Group – Downtown location, was honored with the Rob Sanders Award on February 8, 2022. Created in honor of Rob Sanders, this award recognizes non-nurse employees who go above and beyond to improve the experience for our patients, family members, and coworkers.

Cassandra was nominated by a coworker for the incredible ways she goes above and beyond for our patients. She is a fun, uniting force in the office. She remembers everyone’s birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions and always does something special to celebrate with those around her.

When Thompson patients reach an important treatment milestone, Cassandra even brings confetti to throw in the air and celebrate their accomplishment with them. She is always focused on putting her patients first and being a team player.

These are just a few examples of how Cassandra truly does honor Rob’s legacy and uphold our pledge to always put our patients first.

Each Rob Sanders Award winner receives a beautiful hand-carved wooden sculpture, a bouquet of flowers, and a banner that will hang in their department. They also receive a certificate and a hang-tag to wear under their badge. It was a wonderful celebration and a touching way to honor Rob’s legacy.
