Telehealth Visits Available During COVID-19

To ensure the health and safety of our patients and staff from the risk of coronavirus (COVID-19), whenever possible, we’re recommending telehealth ( visits. This service is for certain established AND new patients.

Here are some frequently asked questions and answers about these types of visits:

How are telehealth visits conducted?

Telehealth visits are video and audio offered through (available on Apple and Android devices, or you could use a PC as long as it is equipped with a camera/microphone). Our office will contact you at the phone number you provided on your health record to complete your “check-in” and provide you a specific timeframe during which your provider will evaluate you via telehealth.

If you choose, be sure your device is equipped with a camera and microphone (i.e. PC, MAC, Android or Apple device), and connected to Wi-Fi or set up to use your cellular data. Although every effort will be made to protect your privacy, please be aware that public networks are not secure, and we cannot guarantee a secure connection for a remote visit. is HIPPA-compliant for patient privacy. Here are important instructions on how to get started with

I have an appointment scheduled. Can I do a telehealth appointment instead of coming into the office?

If you’re scheduled for an office visit, your provider may determine that you can be evaluated via a telehealth appointment instead of an in-person visit. You’ll be contacted prior to any scheduled appointment to obtain your consent for a remote visit and you’ll be reminded of your scheduled appointment time.

During your telehealth appointment, you’ll be “checked in” and provided a specific timeframe during which your provider will evaluate you. 

How can I schedule a telehealth appointment if I don’t already have an appointment?

You must contact your provider’s practice by telephone to request a telehealth ( appointment. Once your message is received by your provider, your request will be reviewed and we will contact you to set up the appointment. 

How will I be charged for a telehealth visit?

The physician office will send charges incurred for your telehealth visit ( to your healthcare insurance company or directly to you if you’re a self-pay patient.

Help Us Stop the Spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19)

We’re continuing to follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines for evaluating and identifying COVID-19 symptomatic patients. Please notify us if you, or someone you have close contact with, has traveled internationally or to a high-risk area within the last 30 days and are experiencing any of these symptoms:

  • Fever of 100 degrees or higher
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath

If you experience any of these symptoms, call your primary care office to determine next steps. The best course of action may be for you to stay home.

All Thompson Oncology Group and Thompson Cancer Survival Center practices are taking extra precautions to thoroughly clean patient exam rooms between visits and sanitize the entire clinics every evening.
